Completely random question.....

Ok, so I have been searching for a book with this poem in it and I need help!  The poem is called "Fred's  Dead" (I think!) and it is this poem about this poor fish that is dead.  My sister and I had the book that it was in and we don't remember where it came from.  Yes, it is a little morbid, but from what I remember, it ends up being pretty funny in the end.  I thought that it was from "Sing a Song of Popcorn" and I checked it out at the library, but that wasn't the right book.  So, I ask those of you with wee ones or a vast knowledge of children's poetry, does anyone know what book this is from?!

Told you it was random.

I do NOT know the answer to that question, but I can make a good suggestion: the BookSleuth page over at Abebooks, which is for exactly this kind of problem.

Could it be from Shel Silverstein? Sounds like his kind of humor.

I think it's a Shel Silverstein. If you don't have copies of his work for the wee one, consider adding them. His "Sarah Silva Cynthia Stout" poem about taking out the garbage always inspired my brood to do their fair share. Then there's the one about the snail who lives up your nose...great for discouraging that nasty picking habit while completely cracking the 'rents up.

I just added you to my favorites. I love your little girl, she is a real cutie. And I love those pants. How cute are they. Im glad I'm not the only person with a knitting blog that posts about her kids. I think I do more kid posts than knitting posts.
